God's 26 Guards

Here's a message that will bring you chills.
Have you ever felt the urge to pray for someone and then said, "I'll pray for them later?"
Or has anyone ever called you and said,"I need you to pray for me, I have this need?"
The following story may change the way that you think about prayer and also the way you pray. You will be blessed by this....
A missionary on furlough told this true story while visiting his home church in Michigan. "While serving at a small field hospital in Africa, every two weeks I traveled by bicycle through the jungle to a nearby city for supplies. This was a journey of two days and required camping overnight at the halfway point. On one of these journeys, I arrived in the city where I planned to collect money from a bank, purchase medicine, and supplies, and then begin my two-day journey back to the field hospital. Upon arrival in the city, I observed two men fighting, one of whom had been seriously injured. I treated him for his injuries and at the same time talked to him about the Lord. I then traveled two days, camping overnight, and arrived home without incident....Two weeks later I repeated my journey. Upon arriving in the city, I was approached by the young man I had treated. He told me that he had known I carried money and medicines. He said, 'Some friends and I followed you into the jungle, knowing
you would camp overnight. We planned to kill you and take your money and drugs. But just as we were about to move into your camp, we saw that
you were surrounded by 26 armed guards. At this, I laughed and said that I was certainly all alone in that jungle campsite. The young man pressed the point, however, and said, 'No, sir, I was not the only person to see the guards, my friends also saw them, and we all counted them. It was because of those guards that we were afraid and left you alone.'
At this point in the sermon, one of the men in the congregation jumped to his feet and interrupted the missionary and asked if he could tell him the exact day this happened. The missionary told the congregation the date, and the man who interrupted told him this story: "On the night of your incident in Africa, it was morning here and I was preparing to go play golf. I was about to putt when I felt the urge to pray for you. In fact, the urging of the Lord was so strong, I called men in this church to meet with me here in the sanctuary to pray for you. "Would all of those men who met with me on that day stand up?"
The men who had met together to pray that day stood up.The missionary wasn't concerned with who they were, he was too busy counting how many men he saw. There were 26!
This story is an incredible example of how the Spirit of the Lord moves in mysterious ways.
If you ever hear such prodding, go along with it. Nothing is ever hurt by prayer except the gates of hell.
If we all take it to heart, we can turn this world toward God once again.
As the above true story clearly illustrates,"With God all things are possible". God hears and answers the prayers of the faithful.
After you read this, please pass it on and give God thanks for the beautiful gift of your faith, for the powerful gift of prayer, and for the many miracles He works in your own daily life.

I asked the Lord to bless you as I prayed for you today. To guide you and protect you as you go along your way.
His love is always with you, His promises are true, and when we give Him our cares you know He'll see us through.
So when the road you're traveling on seems difficult at best, Just remember I'm here praying, and God will do the rest.

I love this story. Such a classic example of God's love and miracles!

Our pastor should use this story on his current message series about prayer !

A plausible story which is a rumour and cannot be verified.

Please visit the following site which give this story and similar stories which are more believeable as they record place names & place names - however, NONE can be verified.

“Moreover, it’s sadly ironic that so many tales contrived to display a particular belief system as The One True Way include fabrication tossed in to better carry the message”

How sad is this statement!!

Why should it be necessary for "us Christians" to jazz up the only true God, Creator of heavens & earth with created stories?

That tells me that "us Christins" underestimate the greatness and awesomeness of our Creator by taking things into our own hands.

Perhaps a personal relationship with our God will bring us to the realization that true testimonies are more powerful than created stories and that God's existence is not, and has never been, and never will be dependant on made up stories.

Suzette thank you for your comments. In my life as I seek God I see that He most often is not glamourous according to the world's perceptions. Most often in my life He asks me to difficult things which are hard and almost never glamorous. Then He wants me to leave it hidden and not take the credit for it. In the end it is good that I don't take the credit because I really didn't want to do it in the first place. It was God who wanted to do it and needed a human to do it through so that we are left with our free wills intact.

I am very concerned that most descriptions of the end times which are coming out make the antichrist look evil. I have a feeling that he will look great and be full of glamour. I am scared that he will have the ability to mislead a lot of people.

I just received this story from my Dad. He has his heart in the right place. My Son is currently in Iraq and my Dad was basically trying to tell me that he has my Son in his prayers without even saying it. I love my Dad and my Son very much and although I don't believe a word of this story I found it touching and believe it could teach a person a thing or two.
Yes I believe prayer is a strong tool, but in the end is there truely only one GOD out there to have faith in. I mean what are we fighting for if not for our freedom and will to choose our own beliefs but the chance to be able to grow in the knowledge that we all have faith in something. I am not Christian but still my parents send me the blessings of their Christian God and I respect them for that. This story represents every reason why I fell from the Christian faith. It was written deliberately to misguid those who choose not to see the real world for what it really is. NO ONE wants to NOT believe in miracles.. I certainly have seen my fair share... but who's to say the Christian God is the one to perform them? Christianity has gone from the greatest religeon of all time to a commercialized Holiday in my book. I hope that no one takes offense because this statement was certainly not meant as a crude comment but literally meant as a stated opinion. We are all welcome to our opinion, as we have free will. The freedoms given to us by our countrymen and countrywomen for centuries has not been in vain.
If a story is true, it can be verified regardless of how "secret" it should be. We have a whole slew of nosey reporters in this world and I am sure if one of them truely put stock in this story, someone would have found a source to expose.
I hope you take this with a grain of salt - or bread or wine or whatever you want to take it with, but in the end there is only one thing we all care about, that is being right in what we believe. I hope someday I find something I believe in strongly enough to be able to preach it to others. To this date I have seen nothing profound about Christianity or it's followers.
Have a wonderful life!
