End Times

Yesterday I caught the repeat of the interview that Glenn Beck aired a couple of weeks ago with Jerry Jenkins and Tim LaHaye (Authors of the "Left Behind" series) and Joel Rosenberg (author of "Epicenter"). They are all experts on end time prophecies. Although the "Left Behind" books are fictionalized the description of what we can expect after the Rapture of the church and during the Tribulation comes directly from the pages of scripture. I do not believe there are any errors in their theology. It was an excellant and informative interview, pointing to the signs that we are now in the "end times" and that we could be seeing the fullfillment of Revelation prophecy in our very lifetime. Although it is true that people have been expecting the imminent return of Jesus for centuries, at no other time have all of the key elements been in place for that to happen until now. Israel becoming a nation in 1948 was the beginning. Rapid advances in technology in the latter part of the 20th century and early part of the 21st century have made possible the fullfillment of prophesies that simply didn't make sense until now. Never before in history would it have been possible to number and mark every person on earth. Microchip technology enables the "Mark of the Beast" to be implemented that each person would need to buy and sell.

Revelation 13:16 -17
And he causeth all, both small and great, rich and poor, free and bond, to receive a mark in their right hand, or in their foreheads:
And that no man might buy or sell, save he that had the mark, or the name of the beast, or the number of his name.

Until the advent of modern telecommunications and ease and speed of travel, a one world government would not have been possible. Nuclear weaponry has made possible the destruction of millions of people as well as one third of the world's vegetation being destroyed.

Revelation 8:7
The first angel sounded, and there followed hail and fire mingled with blood, and they were cast upon the earth: and the third part of trees was burnt up, and all green grass was burnt up.

There are many more such prophecies, too many for me to go into here. The study of end time prophecy is fascinating and I recommend that all Christians should check it out. Our time may be very short.
